Privacy Policy

playa-grande.com is a community information site about Playa Grande, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We don’t sell anything, you don’t need an account, and we keep what we collect to a minimum. This page explains what that is.

What we collect

Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from (country or city), what device and browser they use, and how they found us. This data is aggregated and doesn’t tell us who you are.

Messages. If you email us, we receive what you choose to send, such as your name, email address, and message.

We don’t collect payment information, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell new visits from returning ones. The site also uses a few essential cookies, for example to remember your language choice. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.

How we use it

Only to run and improve this site: to see which information visitors find useful, and to reply to messages and update listings. We never sell or rent your information.

Who else sees it

Google processes analytics data on our behalf under its own privacy policy. Our website host stores the site. We don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Messages are kept only as long as needed to reply and keep listings up to date.

Links to other websites

We link to hotels, restaurants, tour operators, and photo sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don’t control.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Just send us a note.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
